Our sponsors come from all walks of life: charities, commercial organisations, individuals and local government. We have a close working relationship with Argyll & Bute Council which supports us both through a grant and assistance towards the games. We are delighted that our lead sponsor for the Games is again the MacQueen Charitable Trust – a well known name throughout Argyll.
The Argyll Piping Trust – the Gathering’s charitable arm – is a key contributor to the Games through funding the Senior Piping competitions. The Trust is in turn supported by leading contributors to international piping – The Highland Society of London, William Grant and Sons (Glenfiddich), The Piobaireachd Society, The Mactaggart Third Fund and many others. The Trust’s Primary Schools Tuition Scheme, managed jointly with Argyll & Bute Council, receives donations from the MacRobert Trust and the Schroder Foundation.
Individuals are indispensable in sponsoring all Games activities – Piping, Dancing, Heavy and athletic events. Members are key sponsors and include HRIH Francesca von Habsburg, Angus Nicol, Ian and Meriel Tegner, David Stewart of Achara, John Campbell of Kilberry, Helen Mostyn and Johnny Brown.
Local businesses provide valuable funding through sponsorship and programme advertising. If you or your business would like to become a sponsor and help support the Games, Argyll and its culture we would be delighted to hear from you.
The Oban Games would not happen without the support of our sponsors. We are very grateful to them
